Jan Łopata – (born on 16th August 1954 in Motycz, Poland) is a Polish politician, official of local government and a Member of Parliament (V, VI and VII term).

Political Career

From 1999 to 2001 he served as governor of the Lublin district, then until 2003 he was a voivodes for Lublin district. Between 2004 and 2005 he led the parliamentary office of Marian Wesołowski. In 2005 he was elected as a Member of Parliament from a list of the Polish People’s Party (Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe). In the parliamentary elections in 2007 he ran successfully for reelection on a seat in the parliament and again in 2011.

He has been a member of the ZSL since 1984 and then joined the PSL. He served as a President of the Board of PSL in Lublin, Secretary of the Provincial Board of PSL in Lublin and a member of the Supreme Council of the party.

Education

In 1980 he graduated from the Agricultural University in Lublin, where he received the degree of Master of Science at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. In 1998 he took a Postgraduate Course in Administration and Management at the Faculty of Law University in Lublin.
