JoaquÃn MarÃa GarcÃa DÃez
Joaquín María García Díez, born in Ferrol (Coruña) on the 16th September of 1954, is a Spanish national deputy elected for the constituency of Lugo (Galicia) in the 10th term. He is a member of People’s Party (PP).
Political Career[edit]
Joaquín María García Díez was elected as national deputy for the first time in the 8th term and then re-elected in the 9th and 10th terms. During the current term, he is acting as spokesman of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Commission and as member of other commissions such as the Culture Commission and the Commission for the Policies about disabilities. Before becoming a national deputy, Joaquín García had been regional minister of Agriculture, Cattle and Mountains. He was councillor and first deputy mayor and mayor of Lugo (Galicia) in different terms. Joaquín García was also General Secretary of the Galician Agency for rural development. Inside the party he has been a member of the Directive Board of the municipal party and of the regional section.
