Doris Jakobsen (born October 30, 1978 in Jakobshavn) is a Greenlandic politician. She was a member of parliament in 2011 and has served on the Greenland Parliament since 2002, she was Minister of Culture, Education, Research and Church Affairs in 2005-2006 and has also served on the council of Kommuneqafik Sermersooq.

Political Career

She has been a Member of the Greenland Parliament since 2002 and Minister for Culture, Education, Research and Church Affairs between 2005 and 2006. She has been Deputy Chairman of the Greenland Committee, a Member of the Committee on Legal Affairs, the Foreign Policy Committee and the Defence Committee since 2011.

Education

Prior to her career in Parliament she worked as a teacher in Ilinniarfissuaq 2007.



Notable Work

Her notable works include extensive work on environmental problems, she worked at the Siumut headquarters and also was a clerk at Ilulissat, Aasiaat and Nuuk. She also was an organiser of the Youth Program "Oqarit 'Ilulissat"
