Miroslav Grebenicek
Doc. Dr. Miroslav Grebenicek, PhD. was born on March the 21st, 1947 in Stare Mesto u Uherskeho Hradiste. He is a Czech Communist politician, and since 1990 he has been a member of the House of the People and the Chamber of Nations of the Federal Assembly and the Chamber of Deputies. Between 1993-2005 he was a Chairman of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia.
Education[edit]
After graduating from the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Education at the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University he worked as a teacher at various school levels.
Political career[edit]
Miroslav Grebenicek joined the Communist Party in 1975 at twenty-eight years old. In January 1990, he sat for the Communist Party in the process of co-optation to the Federal Assembly after the Velvet Revolution in the People's Chamber. In the elections of 1990 he moved to the Czech part of the Chamber of Nations, for already federated Communists. He remained in The Federal Assembly until the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in December 1992.
In the 1996 elections, he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament and he has retained de-parliamentary mandate ever since in all subsequent elections (elections 1998 election 2002 election 2006 election 2010 elections and 2013)
The highlight of his political career was as a Chairman of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia in 1993-2005. He became a leader of the party at the 3rd Congress of the Communist Party in Prostejov in June 1993.
