Anne-Margrethe Baastrup (born 7th of April 1952 in Aalborg) is a union secretary and member of the parliament for the Socialist People's Party.

Political Career[edit]

Baastrup joined the SF (Socialist People's Party) in 1987. She was a member of SF's executive committee in 1992 and continued in this role until 2001. In 1994 Baastrup sat as parliamentary candidate in Køge nomination district. At the general election September 21, 1994, she was elected to an additional mandate in Roskilde County constituency with 2,404 votes. In parliament Baastrup has been chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee from 2001 to 2005 and again from 2011 to 2012 Between 1998 and 2001 and again between 2005 and 2010, she was its vice-chairman. Baastrup is the party's social spokesman. She previously served as the spokesman on health, education spokesman, occupational health, disability and mental health.

Education[edit]

She earned a Master of Laws from the University of Copenhagen in 1976.
