Eilidh Whiteford
Eilidh was born in 1969 in Aberdeen. She is a member of the Scottish National Party (SNP) and has been an MP for Banff and Buchan since 2010.
Political career[edit]
After her studies, Eilidh worked for Allan Macartney MEP in 1998. She then worked for Ian Hudghton MEP until the 1999 elections. Later she helped MSP Irene McGugan. From 2003, Eilidh worked as policy advisor and campaigns manager for Oxfam. Eilidh was elected as Member of Parliament for Banff & Buchan on 6th May 2010, following Alex Salmond who served as MP 1987-2010.
Education[edit]
Eilidh studied at Glasgow University and was involved with the Federation of Student Nationalists, initially as a National Organizer and then as President. She studied a postgraduate degree in Canada and Scotland, which then led to a PhD.
Notable work[edit]
Eilidh was heavily involved in the Make Poverty History campaign in 2005 and helped to establish the Scottish Fair Trade Forum.

Eilidh’s main interest areas are social policy and global issues. She volunteers for several charities and sits of the Boards of Turning Point Scotland and Jubilee Scotland
