Ivon Anthony Moore-Brabazon, 3rd Baron Brabazon of Tara was born on 20th December 1946. He is a British conservative politician. He joined the House of Lords in 1976. He was the Chairman of Committees between 2002 and 2012.

Political career[edit]

From 1984 to 1986 he sat in the House of Lords as a Conservative. Later, he was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Transport until 1989. Then, he became Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. In 1990 he returned to the Department of Transport as Minister of State until 1992. Due to the House of Lords Act (1999) he lost his automatic right to sit in the House of Lords, but then he was elected as a hereditary peer to remain in the House of Lords. In 2001 he resigned the Conservative whip and became a non-affiliated member of the House of Lords.

Education[edit]

He studied at the Harrow School. He then worked in the freight industry.
