Janric Frasier Craig
Janric Frasier Craig, Viscount Craigavon, was born on the 9th June 1944. He is a British peer and chartered accountant.
Political Career[edit]
Viscount Craigavon joined the Lords on the 26th July 1974. He is one of the 92 hereditary peers who were elected to remain in the House of Lords after the passing of the House of Lords Act in 1999. He sits as a cross bencher. Craig served on the Hybrid Instruments Committee from 1993-2005. In 2010 he sat on the Procedure Committee, a position he has held up until 2014. He mainly focuses upon policies concerning culture, media and sport, health services and medicine, international affairs, science and technology and transport.
Education[edit]
Craig was educated at Eton College, Berkshire. He then went on to study at the University of London in which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science.
Notable Work[edit]
He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Anglo-Austrian Society. In 1998 he became Commander of the Order of the Lion of Finland, in 1999 Commander of the Swedish Royal Order of the Polar Star and in 2006 he was made a Knight of the Danish Order of the Dannebrog in 2006.
