Introduction[edit]

Ned O’Sullivan was born on September 25th, 1950 in County Kerry, Ireland. He is an Irish Fianna Fàil politician and member of Seanad Eireann on the Labour Panel.

Political Career[edit]

From 1985 to 2007 he was a member of the Listowel Town Council and he was on the Kerry County Council from 1991 to 2007.

Education[edit]

He was educated at University College Dublin and St Patrick’s College of Education in Drumcondra. He worked as a teacher at the primary and secondary school in Dublin at Offaly and Kerry before taking over his family’s menswear business in Listowel.

Notable Work[edit]

He was a former director of Shannon Foynes Port Company, and he was closely involved in the promotion of the Shannon Estuary as an industrial zone for the mid-west. Moreover, he was a member of the South West Regional Authority and the South and East Assembly. His political priorities concern equality in education and more effective local government.
