Annick De Ridder

Annick De Ridder, born in Antwerp on February 4, 1979, is a Belgian politician for N-VA (New Flemish Alliance), previously for Open-VLD.

Political Career[edit]

De Ridder is a member in the Flemish Parliament since 2004. There she is active in the Committee Public Works and Transportation. In addition, she has been Chair of the Committees for Administrative Affairs, Home Affairs, Integration and Tourism. From 2007 until 2011, she was Chairwoman of the Open VLD in the City of Antwerp and Director of the Antwerp Port Authority. In April 2011, she ended both mandates and left the municipal council to take up a position at Katoen Natie. In 2011, she cumulated twelve mandates in total, of which six were paid.

On November 25, 2013, she switched to the political party of the N-VA . During the 2014 elections, she was elected for the first time as member of the Flemish Parliament for the N-VA. She was also appointed as State Senator for N-VA and became party leader in the Senate.

Education[edit]

Annick De Ridder obtained her Master in Law at the University of Antwerp (UIA) in 2002. In 2013, she obtained an additional postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance at the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL).
