Dragan Matić

Dragan Matić (born June 21, 1964) is a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and a member of the Party of Miro Cerar (Slovenian: Stranka Mira Cerarja - SMC).

Political Career

He was elected to the National Assembly in 2014.

Professional Career

During his professional career he spent many years working for the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia in the position of the archivist for the elderly judicial documents and the Director. He was also employed at the Historical Archives Ljubljana where he worked as a senior archivist for the older material, research and professional processing of archival material from the early 14th to the late 19th century. During his time at the Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia for Cultural Heritage he performed the function of the senior inspector - Adviser to Government control over the implementation of protection of archives and other movable cultural heritage and the Chief Inspector whereas he was an inspector senior councilor for the area of archives and other movable cultural heritage while working at the Inspectorate for Culture and Media

Education

Matić graduated, then finished MA in history and obtained PhD in historical sciences in 2001 at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana.
