Miroslav Krejca was born on February 21, 1956, in the city of Pisek. He is a Czech politician as the senator for the district of Strakonice, councillor of the city of Pisek, a former member of the Social Democrats and a former rector at at VŠTE.

Education

After graduating from industrial high school, he worked as a designer in the city of Ceske Budejovice. In 1985 he graduated from engineering studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University, where he also worked as an academic research assistant and later the vice-director of the Department of Irrigation.

In 2006, he became the first Rector of the University of Technology and Economics in Czech Budejovice.

Political career

For fourteen years, since 1997, he was a member of the Social Democrats. He sits at the Assembly for the city of Pisek. In the years 2000-2008 he was a member of the Assembly of the South Bohemian Region. In 2008, he won the second round of Senate elections in the district of Strakonicko.
