Syria
2011 - present[edit]
Ethnic war erupted in Syria in March 2011 as part of the Arab Spring movement. Thousands of people have been killed and many others have fled as a result of government brutality.
It has been stated that the al-Assad regime has committed deliberate crimes against humanity as opposed to genocide per se. Notwithstanding this official classification, the modus operandi of the government’s soldiers and the evidence of killing displayed by the world’s media would suggest that the Syrian population is under a sustained attack of genocide.
