The 2 + 4 Treaty
September 12, 1990[edit]
While communism has been eradicated in East Germany, and reforms are quickly created to unify Germany, the country still remains occupied by the allies. (USA, Great Britain, France, and the Soviet Union) On September 12th, a treaty is signed by the allies, as well as East and West Germany, which grants Germany full sovereignty, and renounces the rights of all the allies in Germany. This iconic moment is the final piece as total German reunification takes place less than a month later.
