Civil Rights Movement
Civil Rights Movement
Civil Rights Movement is the name given to a political movement for equality before the law. Many Civil Rights cases consist of non-violent resistance, while some cases are accompanied or followed by civil unrest or armed rebellion. An example of a Civil Rights Movement is the African-American Civil rights Movement in the United States in the second half of the 20th Century. It can be described as a social movement that aimed to outlaw racial discrimination against black Americans. Some of the successes of the Afro-American Civil Rights Movement include the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which banned racial discrimination in employment and public accommodation situations and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, restoring and protecting black Americans’ voting rights.
