A form of global communication based on interactions between people from different cultural, religious, social and ethnic backgrounds. Through such communication individuals are able to develop a common understanding of each other’s cultures and perspectives. The concept is of growing significance to the field of global business, as organizations have to rethink their strategies to manage cross-cultural diversity in the workplace. Other areas of relevance include politics, education, health, and tourism.
