Lia Quartapelle was born in Valese on August, 15, 1982. She is a member of the Italian Democratic Party and was elected a member of parliament in 2009.
Political Career
As a member of the Italian parliament, she is part of the Foreign Affairs Commission. Therefore, she mainly deals with diplomacy, economics as well as Africa and development aid.
Education
She graduated from SOAS in London with a master in Economics, and finished her studies with a doctorate in Developmental Economics from the University of Pavia in 2012.
Special Achievements
In 2007, she was part of an Italian Cooperation in Mozambique that supported the local government in achieving their own development policies.
