Alain St. Ange was born on 24th October in 1954 at the island of La Digue. He is the minister of Tourism of the Seychelles since March 2012.

Biography[edit]

Alain St. Ange was formally the Seychelles People’s Progressive Front (SPPF) directly elected Member of the People’s Assembly for the La Digue Constituency in 1979. Also he was the Seychelles National Party (SNP) directly elected Member of the National Assembly for the Bel Air Constituency in 2002. In 2009 he was chosen as the Director of Marketing for Seychelles. In 2010 he got promoted as C.E.O. of the Seychelles Tourism Board. He was elected the first President of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Island Regional Organisation in 2012 and was relelected for a second term of office. In 2013 Minister St. Ange was elected to the Board of the UNWTO Executive Council.

He is married and has two daughters.

Education[edit]

He studied Hotel Management and Tourism in Germany and France. He gained experience in the hotel business by working in hotels and restaurants in Seychelles, the Channel Island and Australia.

Notable Work[edit]

Alain St. Ange has authored and co-authored a number of books. A few examples are “Seychelles, What Next”(1991), “Seychelles, Enters The World of Carinval” (2011) and “Seychelles, State House” (2013).
