Vladimir Drobnjak (born 5 March 1956 in Zagreb) is the Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United Nations in New York.

Biography

Prior to the appointment of being the Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United Nations in New York, H.E. Amb. Vladimir Drobnjak was the Permanent Representative of Croatia to the European Union in Brussels in 2013. He was also the Head of the Mission of Croatia to the European Union and Chief Negotiator for the negotiations on the accession of Croatia to the European Union. H.E. Amb. Vladimir Drobnjak started his career in journalism, first as a journalist for Vjesnik until 1986 and then as editor-in-chief of Sunday Vjesnik until 1988. He has won awards as a journalist – Young Journalist of the Year in 1982 and the Golden Pen Award of the Croatian Journalist Association in 1984. H.E. Amb. Vladimir Drobnjak is the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the United Nations since August 2013. H.E. Amb. Vladimir Drobnjak read Law in JD University of Zagreb, Croatia in 1980. In 2014 he became a Chair-member of the UN Disarmament Commission and also the Vice-President of Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC.
