Magda Berndsen-Jansen (D66) Member of the Dutch House of Representatives

Magda Berndsen-Jansen is a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the Democrats 66 (D66). She was born in Burdaard on May 4th, 1950.

Political Career

From 1985 till 1990 Magda Berndsen-Jansen was a member of the city council of the Boskoop municipality. From 1988 till 1990 she was an assistant in setting up the secretariat and the department of publicity in the Bodegraven municipality. After that she was the mayor of Obdam until 1995. Then Berndsen-Jansen was the mayor of Beverwijk until 2000. She was the district chief of police of the Hilversum district from 2000 till 2002 and the police chief of Gooi and the Vechtstreek region from 2000 till 2006. From 2006 till 2010 Magda Berndsen-Jansen was the police chief of the Fryslân region. On June 17th, 2010 she joined the Dutch House of Representatives for the D66. She focuses on safety, justice and police. Furthermore, from 2012 Berndsen-Jansen has been the chairman of the permanent committee of Home Affairs.

Education

Magda Berndsen-Jansen did the MULO in Leiden from 1962 till 1966.
