Michèle André
Michèle André was born in 1947. She has been a member of the Senate of France since 2001 for the constituency of Puy-de-Dôme. She is a member of the Senate Socialist Group.
Political Career
Michèle André had been municipal and regional councillor for Clermont-Ferrand from 1983 to 2001. From 1988 to 1991, she was State Secretary for Women's rights, and from 2001 to 2004, Vice President of the General Council of Puy-de-Dome, responsible for culture and sport.
Michèle André is Vice-President of the Finance Commission and Regional Councillor for Puy-de-Dôme. She is also Vice-President of the French Section of the Parliamentarian Assembly for Francophone Countries. She is also a member of the Common Mission of Information as part of the new strategy for the EU in internet governance, member of the Study Boards on civil aviation, hunting and fishing, popular education and culture, and economic development for mountainous regions.
Notable Work
From 1981 to 1983, Michèle André was a regional delegate for Women Rights, and she is the Vice-President of the Association for Managing Senators' Assistants.
