Álvaro Anchuelo Crego, born 4 June 1964 in Madrid, is a member of the Spanish Chamber of Deputies representing the Spanish region of Madrid. Anchuelo Crego is a member of Unión Progreso y Democracia, (UPyD), and he is a member of the Parliamentary Group of Unión Progreso y Democracia, Grupo Parlamentario Unión Grupo y Democracia (GUPyD) within the Chamber of Deputies.

Political Career

As part of his political career, he has actively participated in Union, Progress and Democracy (UPyD) party. Since its inception, first as President of Group Economy and later within the Political Council. Since July 2009 he was working in parliamentary initiatives in the economic area. In the general elections of November 20 in 2011, he was elected deputy in the Congress of Deputies, where he was UPyD spokesperson on committees of Economy and Competitiveness , Finance and Public Administration, Employment and Social Security, Monitoring and Evaluation Budgets and Agreements Toledo Pact.

Education

Graduated in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1987 with average rating of outstanding, two years later he obtained a Master in Economics from the University of Warwick, to reach finally, in 1993, a Ph.D. in Economics and business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid with suitable qualification cum laude. Also he conducted research studies at the University of Southampton and the London Business School between 1989 and 1991.
