Alain Rodet
Introduction
Alain Rodet (born June 4, 1944) is a Socialist Party member of the French National Assembly for the first district of Haute-Vienne, in Western France.
Rodet was also the Mayor of Limoges from 1990-2014 and is an economist.
Political Career
Rodet first entered politics in 1976, becoming a Municipal Councillor for Limoges-Cité.
In 1981, Rodet was first elected to the French National Assembly for the first constituency of Haute-Vienne. The next election, Rodet was elected to the fourth district of Haute-Vienne, where he remained until 2012, when he moved back to the first district.
On October 6, 2009, Le Monde and the website Le Post published a ranking of French deputies according to their tendency to multiple directorships. Alain Rodet was ranked 7th out of 577 French politicians.
Education
Rodet studied Science Economics in Paris, then taught economics at the University of Limoges before entering politics.
