Alois Gerig
Alois Gerig was born on January 30th 1956 in Höpfingen, he is a German politician (CDU).
Political Career
Since 1999 he is a member of the County Council of the Neckar - Odenwald -Kreis.
In 2009 Gerig was elected into the German Bundestag. He is a regular member of the Bundestag Committee, Food and Agriculture and a substitute member of the Committee on Health and the Committee on the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. In the 17th legislature he was Forestry and Viticulture policy spokesman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group. On 15th March 2011, he was at 98 percent as Vice-Chairman (Chairman) of the Working Group elected on Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.
On 22nd September 2013, he was re-elected. In the 18th legislature Gerig was reconfirmed as chairman of the Committee on Food and Agriculture and is rapporteur for Forestry and Renewable Energy. He is also a member of the European Union Parliamentarians of the German Bundestag.
Education
He completed his studies in Agriculture in 1977 with a master certificate.
Notable achievements
From 1985 until 2009 he was Managing Director in the machinery ring Odenwald - land with three commercial subsidiaries. In 1988 he took over the family business and built it from the Farmhouse. Alois Gerig is Vice Chair of the District Farmers' Association, and was until his election to the German Bundestag 2009 Board member of the National Association of machinery rings Baden- Württemberg. Since April 2011 he has been Chairman of the Federation for Fruit.
