Daniela Gasparini
Daniela Gasparini was born May 28th 1950, in Reggio Emilia. She is a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies for the Partito Democratico.
Political Career
Before entering politics, Gasparini was already an active member of the community. In 1975 she joined the Italian Communist Party and was elected to the Town Council of Cinisello Balsamo the same year. In 1980 she was elected to the Town Council, two years later she became deputy mayor for Public Education. In 1985 she won a second term and became deputy mayor for Culture and Social Service, she held this office until 1992.
In 1995 she was elected mayor of Cinisello Balsamo and won a second time in 1999. After 2004 she became provincial Councillor for the Milan Province. She held the office for 5 years until she was re-elected mayor a third time.
In 2012 she abbandoned her office as mayor to become a candidate for the Parliament. In the 2013 general election she won a sit in the Chamber of Deputies.
Notable Works
Daniela Gasparini is commited in the field of culture. She gave a key contribution to the founding of the Museum of Contemporary Photografy in Cinisello Balsamo and the Il Perdini Cultural Center and Library. She also cooperated for the funding of projects of urban development, such as the "Urban e il Contratto di quartiere" project.
