Georgios Ntolios
Georgios Ntolios was born in Pulaia, Evros in 1955. He is a Greek politician and dentist.
Political Career
He was elected MP with PASOK in prefecture of Evros, in March 2004. He was re-elected in September 2007, capturing the unique office of PASOK in the prefecture. In 2009, he was elected for the third consecutive time as MP, gathering 26219 crosses thereby taking first place. From December 2009 until June 2011 he served as Deputy Minister of Interior, Decentralization and E-Government. In the elections of 2012 he was re-elected as the only PASOK MP in Evros. He is a member of the Parliamentary Committees: the Standing Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice and the Special Standing Committee of the Regions.
Education Career
He studied at the Dental School of the Aristotle University.
Notable Work
During his youth, he developed a strong social and political activity. As a student he actively participated in all the events of the student movement and was president of the "Association of students of Evros". In this capacity he published the newspaper "Voice of Evros" which was a very important activity at that time.
He served in a number of party positions. For example he served within the position of Secretary of PASOK Prefectural Committee of Evros, however, resigned when he was elected as Mayor in Feres. He was twice elected to the Departmental Councilor in the District of Alexandroupolis and represented the County Council in the District Council of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. As Mayor of Feres he undertook initiatives that changed the image and functions of the municipality and reveal another role and another dimension of local government.
During his tenure as mayor, he founded the first Local Development Company of the prefecture, "DIMOSYNETAIRISTIKI" which implements the first program Leader with significant operations in Soufli, Dadia, the Tuxero, Feres, Evros Delta and Traianoupolis. Additionally, he also created the homonymous Foundation Thracians and organized the World Congress of Thracians in Feres, marking the reunification of Thracian Hellenism which continues to operate today.
