Giannis Koutsoukos
Giannis Koutsoukos was born in Amaliada in 1953. He is a Greek politician and Economist.
Political Career
In the National Elections of 2000 he was for the first time candidate in Ilia and was elected Deputy, he lost however his seat after his resort of colleagues in the Court of elections. In 2004 he was honoured with the vote of population of Ilia and was elected first Deputy. He developed rich parliamentary actions in the parliamentary sessions and in the Committees of Public Administration, Social Affairs, Production and Trade. In 2007 he was elected once again first Deputy of Ilia. He was re-elected in 2009.
Education Career
Graduate from the Economic University Athens.
Notable Work
With his input in the university in 1972 he was activated and existed as an active member of the student movement, he was involved in the political party of PA.SO.K from his foundation, in 1974. It initially worked in the private sector, where he acquired experience as executive of economic services of many enterprises. He was activated in the Movement of Economic Scientists and was elected in the first elected Administration of Economic Chamber of Greece in 1983, he was re-elected in 1989. He worked, afterwards, in the Ministry of Finance where he continued his trade-union action in the public employment trade-union movement, contributing in the organisation of PASK of Public Employees, to which he has been Secretary from 1989 until 1995. In 1993 he was elected President of A.D.E.D.Y., re-elected in 1996 and in 1999 and remained until 2000. In his party he has been member in bodies and committees of all levels, local, sectoral and central, during his time as member of Central Committee of PA.SO.K., while from 2005 he was secretary of Sector of Rural Growth of Movement.
