Henrik Børge Høegh was born on February 25th 1952 in Alsø, Lolland
Political Career
He was Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries February 23rd 2010 -October 3rd 2011, a Representative on environmental policy from 2011, a Member of the Environment Committee, the Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Committee, the European Affairs Committee, and the Climate, Energy and Building Committee from 2011. Following this he became Vice-chairman of the European Affairs Committee 2007-2010, a Member of the Energy Policy Committee, the Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Committee and the Greenland Affairs Committee 2007-2010. He was also a Deputy member of the Board of the Danish Inter-Parliamentary Group 2007-2010
Education
He completed a degree in Agricultural studies at the Næsgård Agricultural School in 1974 after finishing Agricultural training in Canada 1973. He was an Agricultural trainee in 1969-1972 and finished his Lower secondary school leaving examination in 1969
Notable Work
He has has a long career in Agriculture. He was a Member of Parliament for the Liberal Party in Zealand greater constituency from November 13th 2007, a Candidate for the Liberal Party in Guldborgsund nomination district from 2007, a Chairperson of the Young Farmers in East Lolland 1974-1977, a Member of the management committee of East Lolland Agricultural Society 1983-1989 and a County Coordinator for School Contact 1984-1989. He was Chairperson of the plant breeders' committee in Lolland, Falster and Møn 1987-1989, Regional chairperson of agricultural societies in Lolland, Falster and Møn 1989-1999, Member of the management committee of Danish Agriculture 1989-2007, member of the executive committee 1997-2007, first vice-chairman 1998-2007 and then Chairperson of 'ABED-Fonden' 1989-2010. He was also Chairperson of the National Committee for Plant Breeding 1991-1999 and a Member of the Agricultural Council of Denmark 1990-2007.
