Josep Maldonado i Gili
Josep Maldonado i Gili born in Coma-Ruga (Tarragona) on the 5th November 1952, is a Spanish senator representing the Catalonia’s Parliament. He is a member of the Convergència Democràtica de Catalunya.
Political Career
Josep Maldonado i Gili was elected as senator for the first time in the 9th term, and re-elected for the current term. During the current term, he is acting as spokesman of the defence commission and also for the ibero-american affairs commission. He is also a member of the mixed commission for the parliamentary control of the collaboration of RTVE (Spanish public radio-television). In this term he was not elected as senator but designated to the Catalonian Parliament. Josep Maldonado i Gili started his political career in the Provincial Council of Tarragona in 1979 where he was working until 1987. At the same time he was a councillor in the City Council of El Vendrell (Tarragona). In 1995 he became a Catalonian deputy and after that he jumped to the national (2004) as national deputy in the Spanish congress for two different terms (2000-2004, 2004-2008).
