Olga Kefalogianni was born in Athens in 1975.

Political Career

She was elected Member of Parliament for the constituency of Rethymno, Crete representing the New Democracy party in the general elections of 2007 and 2009. On May 6th 2012 she was elected in the first constituency of Athens. She was re-elected in the same position in the June 17th 2012 elections. She has also worked at the Legal Services of the European Commission in Brussels. From May 2004 up to September 2006 she served as legal advisor to the former Prime Minister of Greece. She is the author of the book “The Role of the European Union in the Cyprus Conflict”, which has been published by the Livanis publishing house.

Education

She has studied law and international affairs. In 1997 she obtained her bachelor degree in Law at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 1998 she graduated from King’s College, University of London with the degree of Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Commercial and Corporate Law. She obtained her second post-graduate degree in international relations (GMAP) in 2006 from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. She is an attorney at law and member of the Athens Bar Association. From 1998 she has worked as a lawyer in major law firms in Athens, Greece and New York, U.S.A. She speaks English, French, and Spanish.
