Donatella Albano is a member of the Italian Senate since February 2013, candidate of the Democratic Party in the region Liguria. Italic text

Biography[edit]

Donatella was born on January 1958 in Bordighera (Imperia). She got her diploma and she started volunteering at the age of 20 with a catholic association and, with some boys of this association, in 2012 she won the Oscar of Sport. She is married and she has two children. She has been city councilman in Bordighera and since 2007 she is a member of the associatio Penelope-Gruppo Donne del Ponente for equal opportunities. In 2009 she has been threatened by organized crime and she is still under guard. She also is a member of the association against mafia called Libera. Before her career at the Senate, she was employee at the Italian Farmers' Confederation and president of ABC Bordighera-Pallamano.

Political career[edit]

Councilor in Bordighera till 2011, then founding member of the national Democratic Party for the area of Imperia. In 2013 she won the elections and became PD deputy for the region Liguria at the Senate.
