In 1980 he joined to "Solidarność" and he was involved in creating leaflets about democracy and Solidarity and some anti-communist magazines. In 1986 he was arrested in charge of anti-communist activities but but in September he was lefted free.

Andrzej Gałażewski was born in 20th April 1944 in Kraków. He is a Polish politician. At the end of Word War II he moved with his parents to Gliwice, where he is still living today.

Political career[edit]

In 1980 he joined Solidarność and he was involved in creating leaflets about democracy and Solidarity and some anti-communist magazines. In 1986 he was arrested and charged with anti-communist activities but was released in September. Between 1990 and 1991, he was President of Gliwice. Between 1997 and 2000 he was Voivode of Silesian District. In 2001 he was elected to the Polish Parliament. He was re-elected in 2005. Between 2004 and 2005 he was member of European Parliament. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Polish Parliament.
