About the Program

The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy created the program “Cultural Bridges in Germany” to strengthen relations between Germany’s cultural communities, exploring the benefits of a multi-cultural society, and analyzing Germany’s increasing role as a regional and global power.

In order to pursue these goals, the program works to bring together individuals of diverse cultural and professional backgrounds from across Germany and beyond. Through weeklong seminars and academic conferences, stakeholders can discuss salient economic, political, and cultural issues and become part of a sustainable network of likeminded individuals.

Program Aims The Cultural Bridges in Germany program will pursue the following specific aims:

To raise awareness of, and strengthen relations between, the diverse cultural communities within Germany
To draw attention to Germany’s rich cultural and philosophical heritage and its global influence
To increase the use of art, music, and sport as a medium for intercultural exchange programs at the national and international levels
To strengthen Germany’s economic, political, and cultural relations with other countries
To highlight Germany’s role as a regional and global leader
