Conrado Escobar Las Heras

Conrado Escobar Las Heras, born 10 June 1964, is a member of the Spanish Chamber of Deputies representing the Spanish region of La Rioja. Escobar Las Heras is a member of the People’s Party, Partido Popular (PP) and he is a member of the People’s Party Parliamentary Group, Grupo Popular (GP) within the Chamber of Deputies.

Political Career

Escobar Las Heras has been an MP for the Partido Popular from La Rioja, for one term, since 2011. Previously, he was a spokesperson and deputy mayor of the City of Logroño from 2003 to 2007. That year he was appointed Minister of Public Administration and Local Government Policy La Rioja until 2011. From 1993 to 2003 and in 2011, he was an Autonomic Senator. Additionally, from 1999 to 2003 he was the Secretary General of the People’s Party of La Rioja. Nowadays, in the Chamber of Deputies he is a spokesman in the Commission of Interior, and a member of the Commission of Public Works, the Committee on Agriculture, Food and Environment, the Commission on Road Safety and Sustainable Mobility and of the Subcommittee on Social Media Study.

Education

Conrado Escobar Las Heras has a degree in Law from the University of Oviedo. He holds a Diploma in Regional Planning from the University of Valencia and a Diploma in Human Rights from the Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Additionally, he holds a Master in Marketing Management from the University of Comillas. Furthermore, he also attended Business Parliament Programs organised by the Institute of Enterprise and the Entrepreneurs Circle. Finally, he also attended the IESE Program Leadership in Public Management. Escobas Las Heras is a Professor at the International University of La Rioja, UNIR.
