Dimitris Gelalis was born in Verdikousia, Elassonas in 1958. He is a Greek politician and economist.

Political Career[edit]

He was elected as an MP in the June 2012 national elections with SYRIZA/Unitary Social Front.

Education Career[edit]

He is a graduate from the University of Macedonia (Graduate School of Industrial Studies of Thessaloniki).

Notable Work[edit]

Former president and member of the Greece’s Chamber of Finance (Regional Department of Thessalia), f. president and secretary of Union of Accountants of Larisa, f. member of General Council of Greek Confederation of Accountants, f. member of Employees Association of Larisa’s Union Of Agricultural Cooperatives, f. member of Economic and Social Council of Greece (department of Larisa). Member of Greek Ship to Gaza and of Greek Social Forum. Candidate in many past Municipal and Prefectural elections (prefecture of Larisa). Active member of Synaspismos from its establishment until nowadays.
