As a football player he was playing for VSS Košice, Slovan Bratislava, Real Cádiz. He was coach of Slvoan Bratislava, Spartak Trnava and the Slovak National Team. Galis dressed up 8 times the jersey of the Slvoak National Team and won the European Championship with Czechoslovakia.

Political career

In 2006 Dušan Galis was elected as Member of the Parliament for SMER-SD. In this year he also became Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Youth, Science and Sports. From 2006 to 2010 he also owned the position of the Government Commissioner for youth and sport. In 2010 he was re-elected in the elections as Member of Parliament and became also member of the Parliamentary Committee for Education, Science, Youth and Sport.
