On August 9th 2016, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Germany, H.E. Bolat Nusupov, visited the concert of the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY at the invitation of the Secretary-General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture, Dusen Kaseinov. The concert is taking place as a part of the 66th festival of young classical music talents in the Bavarian town of Bayreuth.

Young musicians from around the world are travelling to the 66th "Festival of Young Artists" in Bayreuth. The festival is taking place in the summer of 2016 under the general theme "Culture is Communication". Musicians from countries such as China, France, Italy, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan will participate in more than 90 events, acquainting the multicultural German public with traditional music from their homeland.

460 participants from 30 nations have arranged 80 concerts, symposia and 11 workshops. The academy of the festival prepared a "Harmony International" for visitors, featuring the well-known musical masterpieces of Duke Ellington, headed by the famous Swedish conductor Fred Sjöberg. Several vocal ensembles and dozens of voices from around the world are collaborating in a large choir, accompanied by the Big Band of Bavaria’s Youth Jazz Orchestra.

The Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY consists of young musicians from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey. The orchestra performs European songs and songs from their homelands in brightly colored traditional costumes. They gave several concerts during their time in Bavaria: alongside works composed by Grieg, Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky the musicians performed Schnittke’s melodies and classic Turkish masterpieces by Gara Garayev, Muratbek Begaliyev, Suhana Tuylieva, Mansour Sagatova, Almas Serkebayev. The series of concerts was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the independence of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.

The Ambassador took part in an awards ceremony where the mayor of Bayreuth, Birgit Merk-Erbe, and the Director General of the festival, Tammer Elizabeth, gave TURKSOY the jubilee medal for its long-lasting work and significant contribution to the promotion of Turkish culture.

The German-Thai opera “Silent Prince" by Somtow Sucharitkul will also be premiered during the festival. The project "Orient meets Occident" will continue with musical pieces about the power of love: featuring a new version of “Meistersinger 2.0” and "What the World needs now ...!", orchestrated by Dr. Vladimir Ivanoff.

The festival had also a pleasure to give the stage to the award-winning choir of Wuhan University of Beijing and to a Syrian musician, who had to flee from the war and found at the festival a new artistic home. The participants of the festival believe in the power of enthusiasm and cultural understanding. It brings together East and West, emphasizes the similarities of different worlds and connects various cultures. It is a celebration of the common European spirit.
