Eirini Rena Dourou

Eirini (Rena) Dourou was born in Athens in 1974. She is a Greek politician and teacher.

Political Career[edit]

She was elected as a Member of Parliament in Athens with the Coalition of the Radical Left after the elections of May and June 2012. She was responsible for foreign sector of the SYRIZA parliamentary group and on February 2nd, 2014 she was elected by the Central Committee of the Region of Attica as SYRIZA’s candidate for local the elections of 2014. On May 25th, 2014 she was elected as Governor of Attica by combining "Life Force" in a historic first for the radical Left in the course of the country’s political history.

Education Career[edit]

Graduated from the Department of Education of the University of Athens and holds a Masters in Political Science. She speaks English, Italian, Turkish and French.

Notable Work[edit]

She has written the book "The Pleasure of Nationalism" (2007), and has been involved in several collaborative projects on issues of national and international policy.
