Eugen Jurzyca was born on 8th of February 1958. He is a member of the Slovak National Council as a candidate of SDKÚ-DS. He is a member of theCommittee on Education, Science, Youth and Sports and a substitute member of the Committee on European Affairs.

Political Career

During the Iveta Radičová government (8 July 2010 – 4 April 2012) he served as the Minister of Education for Slovakia as an independent. In 2012 before the elections, Jurzyca became a member of the SDKÚ-DS and was reelected to the Slovak National Council.

Education

Eugen Jurzyca studied at Ekonomická univerzita in Bratislava.

Notable Work

Eugen Jurzyca is a co-founder of the Institute for Economic and Social Reforms (INEKO) and he was its president from 1999-2009. Since 2012, he has become an active member again.

Eugen Jurzyca is the recipient of the Order of Ludovít Štúr of the second class which he received from the President of the Slovak Republic in 2005.
