Ewa Björling

Ewa Björling was born on the 3rd of May 1961 in Ekerö, Sweden. She is a member of the swedish parliament representing the Moderate Party.

Political Career[edit]

Ewa Björling was a member of the Municipal Council in Ekerö between 1999-2006. In 2005-2006 she was also the Chairman of the Council. In 2002 she was elected a member of parliament. She was a deputy in both the Committee of Education and Committee of Foreign Affair in 2002-2007. In 2006-2007 Ewa Björling was the Chairman of the Swedish Delegation in the EMPA (Euro-Mediterranean Parlamentary Assembly). She was also chairman of the Swedish National Council for Coordination of Efforts Against HIV/AIDS in 2007, and Europe's representative in the Inter-Parliamentary Union's working group on HIV/AIDS. In 2007 she was elected the Minister of Trade at was that until after the election in 2014. In 2010 Björling also was elected Minister of Nordic Cooperation until 2014.

Education[edit]

Ewa Björling obtained a dentist Degree from Karolinska Institutet in 1987. In 1993 she finished her Doctor in Medicin also from the Karolinska Institutet. In 1999 Ewa Björling became a associate Professor at Karolinska Institutet.

Other Achivments[edit]

In 2006 Björling was awarded with the "Jerusalem Prize" from the Zionist Federation in Sweden. The award is given to people who have shown "extraordinary support for Israel, Jerusalem and Zionism".
