María José García-Pelayo[edit]
María Jose García-Pelayo was born in Jerez de la Frontera ( Spain) in Jannuary 6th 1968; Is currently the mayor of Jerez, after the elections of May 22th, and Senator of the Popular Party in the Senate, after the general elections on November 20th, 2011.
Political Career[edit]
Regional coordinator of the PP sector of Andalusia (1994-1995), PP councilor in the city of Jerez (1995-2003), and deputy provincial People's spokesperson in Cadiz Provincial Council (1999-2003) and Member of Parliament Cadiz Andalusia in legislatures by VI and VII.
She was mayor of Jerez from June 14th 2003 until January 2005 and again Jerez mayor since June 11th 2011.
Currently is a member of the National Executive Committee of the PP ( Popular Spanish party), since the XV Congress.
Education[edit]
She has a Law degree from the University of Cádiz.
