Finn Sørensen
Finn Sørensen was born on 28 December 1946 in Copenhagen. He is a Danish politician, Member of Parliament for the Alliance, and vice chairperson of the party's parliamentary group. He has been politically active on the Danish left from the late 1960s, and has held several leadership and vice-president entries in the trade union movement.
Political Career[edit]
He has been Representative on municipal affairs, social affairs, social dumping since 2012 and Greenland and the Faroe Islands from 2011. He was a Member of the Municipal Affairs Committee and Finance Committee from 2013, Social Affairs Committee, European Affairs Committee, Employment Committee, Committee on Conditions in Greenland and Faroe Islands Committee from 2011. He has been a Member of the Nordic Council from 2011. He has also been Vice-chairman of the parliamentary group of the Red-Green Alliance from 2013.
Education[edit]
He studied Danish and English studies at the University of Copenhagen from 1967 until 1969. He gained his Matriculation certificate in modern languages in 1965.
Notable Work[edit]
He was Vice-chairman of the United Federation of Danish Workers (Industry and Service) between 2005 and 2011, Chairperson of the Danish Brewery Workers' Union in Copenhagen 1986-2005, Brewery worker at the Carlsberg Depot and Tuborg 1978-1986 and an Industrial worker, Nordisk Kabel og Tråd, LK Nes, Dansk Sojakagefabrik 1972-1978. He then worked as an Actor, author and musician, with 'Røde Mor', among others from 1968-1972. He was a Member of the working party of 'Fagbevægelsen mod Unionen' (Trade Unions against the European Union), from 1991 and a Member of the board of 'Carl Scharnbergs Uofficielle fond' from 1997. He was also a Member of the United Federation of Danish Workers' Palestine Network from 2007.
