Gavriel, Yiannakis

Yiannakis Gavriel was born in Famagusta in 1961. He is a Greel/Cypriot politician and teacher.

Political Career[edit]

He is Representative of Famagusta constituency under the banner of AKEL-Left-New Forces since 2008. He served as Secretary of the United Democratic Youth Organisation (EDON) in Deryneia from 1989 to 1993. He also served as Secretary of the Deryneia Cluster Committee of the Progressive Party of the Working People (AKEL) for the period 2004-2006. Furthermore he served as Member of the board of KENTHEA (Centre for Information about Drugs and Treatment for Drug-Addicted Persons) from 2004 to 2008. Last but not least , he serves as Member of the Cyprus Professional Engineers Association (SEM) and of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK) since 1990.

Education[edit]

He graduated as an Industrial Engineering and Wood Processing from University of Forestry and Wood Sciences, Sopron, Hungary.He speaks English and Hungarian.
