Jacek Świat – (born on 16th December 1955 in Wrocław, Poland) – is a Polish politician, scholar, journalist and a Member of Parliament (VII term).

Political Career[edit]

Since 1980 he was an activist in the "Solidarity" party (Solidarność) and was a member of the editorial board of "Solidarity of Lower Silesia". He also participated in the issuance of the underground press: "Solidarity of Lower Silesia", issued by the Fighting Solidarity. In 1989 he worked at the local Civic Committee.

In 1990 he co-founded the Center Alliance (Porozumienie Centrum). He sat on the board of the provincial and national court of this party. In the mid-90s he resigned from political activity. In the parliamentary elections in 2011 he was elected as a Member of Parliament from the list of Law and Justice in the district of Wroclaw.

Education[edit]

In 1980 he graduated in Polish philology from the University of Wroclaw.
