Janko Požežnik (born August 2, 1954) is a member of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia.

Political career[edit]

He started his political career in 2007. Besides being National Councilor, he is also Municipal Councilor at the Municipality of Celje.

Professional Career[edit]

In the years 1984 - 1991, he taught the subject of Defense and Protection at the Grammar School in Celje. Afterwards he held various functions at the Ministry of Defence, in the Slovenian Armed Forces and at the Directorate of Logistics of Ministry of Defence.

Since 2006 he has been employed in the professional fire brigade in Celje where he works as a Director - Commander.

Education[edit]

Požežnik graduated in defense and political science at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana
