Javier Vicente Santamaría Herranz

Javier Vicente Santamaría Herranz, born 5 April 1951 in Segovia, is a Spanish senator representing the Spanish province of Segovia, in Castilla y León in the 10th Congress of Deputies. Santamaría Herranz is a member of the Spanish People’s Party, Partido Popular (PP).

Political Career[edit]

Santmaría Herranz began his political career as mayor of Abades, Segovia, in 1991, a position he occupied until 1996. Later on, from 2003 to 2011, he was a councillor in the city of Segovia. During that period of time he was also the President of the Province of Segovia. Nowadays, in the Spanish Senate, Santamaría Herranz is the First Secretary of the Commission of Defense and is a member of the Development Commission. Furthermore, within the International Delegations, he is an alternate vocal in the Spanish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the North Atlantic Treaty (NATO).

Education[edit]

Javier Vicente Santamaría Herranz has a degree in Mathematics from the Complutense University in Madrid.
