Phillip Harris was born on the 15th September 1942 in Peckham, South London. He represents the Conservative Party in the House of Lords.

Political Career

During the period 1993-1997 he was Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party Board of Treasurers. He was made a life peer on the 11th January 1996, receiving the title Baron Harris of Peckham in the London Borough of Southwark on 11th January 1996. His policy interests include ‘Business, industry and consumers’, ‘Education’ and ‘Health Services and Medicine’.

Notable Work

From 1984-2004 he was Chairman of the Generation Trust, Guys Hospital. He was also a director of Bowel Cancer Research from 2007-2011. Harris is currently the chairman of the Harris Federation of Schools. He is also a Non-Executive Director at Arsenal Football Club.
