George Loukaides in Nicosia in 1968.He is a Greek/Cypriot politician and professional executive of the Central Committee of the Progressive Party of the Working People (AKEL).

Political Career[edit]

George Loukaides is a representative of Nicosia constituency under the banner of AKEL-Left-New Forces since May 2011. He served as Member of the board of the Youth Board of Cyprus (ONEK) from 1997 to 2003, as General Secretary of the United Democratic Youth Organisation (EDON) for the period 2001-2006, and as Member of the Aglantzia Municipal Council from 2006 to 2011. He serves as Member of the AKEL Central Committee since 2000, and of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the AKEL Central Committee since December 2013, as Head of the Educational Affairs’ Advisory Office of the AKEL Central Committee since 2006, as Head of the International Affairs’ Advisory Office of the AKEL Central Committee since 2009, and as Member of the Press Secretariat of the AKEL Central Committee since 2010. Last but not least he is Spokesman of AKEL.

Education[edit]

George Loukaides graduated in Political Science and Diplomacy (University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece).He speaks English.
