Magdaléna Vášáryová
Magdaléna Vášáryová was born on 26th of August 1948 in Banská Štiavnica. She is currently a member of Slovak National Council as a member of the SDKÚ-DS and also of the Committee on Culture and Media.
Political Career[edit]
Magdaléna Vášáryová was a diplomat, prominent for her liberal anti-nationalist stances. She was ambassador of Czechoslovakia in Austria (1990–1993) and ambassador of Slovakia in Poland (2000–2005). She was one of the candidates in the 1999 presidential election, but did not advance to the second round of the election. In 2005, she started her real political career as a secretary of state in the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In 1971, Magdaléna Vášáryová graduated from Univerzita Komenského in Bratislava.
Notable Work[edit]
Magda Vášáryová is also a Slovak actress. Until 1989 she acted in several Slovak theatres, including the Slovak National Theatre and in numerous movies.
