Christos Messis was born in Limassol in 1957.He is a Greek/Cypriot politician and mechanical engineer.

Political Career[edit]

Christos Messis is a representative of Limassol constituency under the banner of AKEL-Left-New Forces since May 2011. He served as Vice-chairman of the Youth Board of Cyprus (ONEK) from 1994 to 2000,Member of the Executive Bureau of the Democratic Party (DIKO) for the period 1998-2008, and Mayor of Mesa Yitonia and Vice-president of the Union of Cyprus Municipalities for the period 2002-2011. Last but not least he served as Vice-chairman of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union from 2004 to 2011.

Education[edit]

Christos Messis graduated in Mechanical Engineering (Technische Hochschule Aachen, Germany).He speaks German and English.
